About Me
My name is Jon Nguyen. I have always had a strong appreciation for all things design related. I try to visualize how the artist / designer would articulate and come to that final revision. From that, I would try to take parts of their workflow and implement it into my own. My design philosophy is to always try to improve my design workflow to be as efficient as possible, while creating the most polished designs. In my own work, I take a lot of influences in the latest UI trends that now strongly emphasizes minimalistic UI experiences; less is now more. Gone are now the days of the busy 1990s table based layouts and pages.
As a web designer, I do my best to divert my main focus away from the intangible aspects of design, such as which colors compliment what (although still important!) and which colors evoke what emotion. There is definitely a science to web / UI design. On average a website visitor will only stay on a page for less than 10 seconds. This is why it is crucial that the desired information is easily viewed and accessible in the most logical fashion. The design must be functional first and aesthetically pleasing in a strong second. This is especially important in corporate design where the delivery of information is the first priority. A strong web design has the powerful ability to create trust and guide visitors to take action. As the web evolves I feel it is extremely important to keep up with the latest technologies and languages. Because of this, I always try to keep a student mentality. In other words, I do my best to learn new things from the people around me. I am continuously learning all the newest web/UI trends, and am coming up with my own ways to ultimately improve the end-user experience.
